ÑIELOL HILL
It’s a hill that is located within an area of 90 hectare native forests, where the Copihue (the national flower of Chile) can be found. It’s also historically relevant, since it was here that in 1881, in the area known as La Patagua, the Mapuche (indigenous tribes of south central Chile and southwestern Argentina) leaders ceded land to the settlers to found Temuco.

This regional museum dates back to 1940 and has permanent exhibitions which present the Araucano people’s history before, during and after de Spanish invasions.

PABLO NERUDA NATIONAL RAILWAY MUSEUM
Sus trenes rescatan el testimonio más vívido de los inicios de Temuco y del desarrollo de la región. Declarada monumento histórico nacional en 1989, esta vieja estación ferroviaria, ubicada en Avenida barros Arana 0565,  fue por décadas el centro operativo de la tracción a vapor en el sur de Chile.

This museum and its trains rescue the most vivid testimony from the first days of Temuco and the region’s development. Declared a National Historic Monument in 1989, this old railway station was the steam powered vehicles operation centre in Southern Chile for years.

CONGUILLIO NATIONAL PARK
Conguillio covers 60.835 hectares of alpine lakes, deep canyons and native forests. The central attraction of such an awesome park is the Llaima Volcano (3125 high)

IX REGION HOT SPRINGS
Enjoy some in many hot springs offered in this region, amongst which you can visit Coñaripe Hot Springs, Huife Hot Springs and Palguin Hot Springs.
